A new mixed-income building that would bring more than 200 residential apartments, including affordable housing units, could be coming to Orchard Street in Newark, according to a proposal by New York-based real estate company Fairstead and investment firm LIHC.

Fairstead and LIHC officials announced this week a development proposal for a mixed-income building at Essex Plaza in Newark, a fully affordable housing set of properties the companies purchased in November 2021.
