Robert Barnard has been elevated to senior director, development, at Fairstead, a national real estate owner and manager.
Based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., regional office, Barnard manages the development of affordable housing nationwide. His team is seated across the East Coast, overseeing deals ranging from Fairstead’s first ground-up deal in Alexandria, Virginia, to 4% low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) transactions in Houston and preservation efforts in New York.
He joined Fairstead in 2021, bringing prior experience at a Mid-Atlantic-based affordable housing developer, leading the development of more than 1,000 affordable and mixed-income units. He remains active in the region, serving on the Leadership Council of the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance.
Fairstead owns a portfolio of more than 26,000 units across 28 states.
